Yes, we are. Thank goodness you see it that way too. It's not just the belief (i.e. I could not say for sure whether or not there is somewhere one goes after death because I've never been dead, as far as I know); it's the idea that humanity be kind to itself, that people's actions reflect their wish for a more peaceful society rather than interpretation of what they think their specific God wants them to do. Unfortunately, some people equate their beliefs with superiority, as evidenced above me a number of times. Thanks for a question that truly merits thought.
