I would definitely train muay thai kickboxing. It is an amazingly effective art. You will definitely be able to defend yourself well. Cardio kickboxing and western kickboxing don't even begin to compare. Have fun with your training and maybe one day you will be a world champion fighter Mike Cro Cop Flipovic who is a muay thai fighter.

Well, I think you should do what Bruce Lee did. You should start to condition your body more before you focus on petty techniques. You need strength and speed first. THen you can go find a teacher to help guide you through the training process. Kickboxing is pretty good, but like the other person said, it is never a good idea to be confined to one style. I would pick up at least two styles. Good luck.

maximum body builders do no longer understand the thanks to strive against. They under no circumstances strive against because the common human being is fearful of them. yet a kickboxer isn't a median human being. A kickboxer is educated to do one element...strive against. In a real strive against, there are not any guidelines, and a body builder would get his nuts and legs kicked so quickly, that the BB doesn't even get a punch off. no longer purely that, yet a kickboxer is likewise speedier with the fingers. BBs tend to be poor sluggish.

Where do you live?

You may want to look for Muay Thai, Kyokushin karate, shoot boxing, or san shou gym. There's a chance they probably do kick boxing fight as well. Muay Thai gym definitely do it for sure.

It's better if you post where you live so we can better help you out or you can email me and I'll help you.

If it interests you, then you should take the time to find a school near you. Find out the cost, and watch a few classes. If it seems somewhere you are comfortable then you should do it.

Kick Boxing is good, but never rely on one style for defense.

It is best to condition your body to its' fullest capacity and then you will be more than a kick boxer.
