I very sincerely recommend you visit this website:

It really helped me once. And I also think there's a lot of truth in it.

Thinking about suicide means that you are in so much pain that you can't think of any other way to stop the pain. That is not being weak-minded, it's a result of unbearable emotional pain.

If you are actively planning suicide, that is a medical emergency and you should call a friend or drive yourself to the nearest hospital emergency room and tell them that you are feeling suicidal and have a plan. If suicide is something you think about now and then, but in a vague manner, you have serious depression and you should see a psychiatrist immediately, but probably do not need an ER. You might call a suicide hotline, not a bad idea, and there may be a crisis team that can come sit with you and give you companionship for a few hours. You may have to ask if your area has this. Don't take this situation lightly even though it SEEMS to just be your feelings-if you are thinking about suicide, you have serious depression of some kind and need help. It is a medical problem, and a lot of very depressed people either had the bad luck to get the genes for depression, or had a very tough life (like abuse, extreme poverty, alcoholic parent) that made them depressed. It seems so weird that your feelings can be a symptom of a medical problem, but there you go. You didn't have any control over getting depression, but you CAN control what you do about it. Please take care of yourself!!

If all this is too much, call up a good, smart friend and tell them you need them to help you.

If you feel really weak right now and don't want to go on with life...this is what I suggest to you:
1) Exercise to the point that you are sweating and almost out of breath.
2) Eat at least three square meals a day incorporating all you know what is needed of a good diet.
3) Get a good night's sleep.
4) Abstain from ALL drugs INCLUDING coffee and cigs for a few days.
5) Call someone you trust and express what you are feeling. If they are your friend, they will know exactly what you need to hear.

The above is how I got through feeling "weak-minded". ANYONE can get to the point they don't want to go on with life. It's mostly a matter of the chemicals that are running through your body at that time. When you return to your "normal state", you will find that your body and mind can now connect and operate normally. You will notice that you think of things differently, almost with a higher state of mind and will be strong enough to get through those tough times.
Remember, anyone can feel weak-minded at times, you just gotta pull through because the minute you don't, you've lost the game. Life is the game and you are in control every minute of it.
Semper Fidelis.

No, they are not weak, but they are often irrational. Because suicide is often due to depression, and when one is depressed they are not thinking rationally. Depression is an illness - please get help. Once you begin to feel better, you will look back on these feelings and realize this. You don't have to feel this way. If you feel you are dangerous to yourself, please go to the ER. Make an appointment with a mental health professional as soon as possible. Depression is exhausting, but you don't have to live this way.

no. you may feel worn down, but that is normal for this illness. it doesn't make you weak-minded. it's just very exhausting and tiring to keep on fighting.

keep fighting though. it does get better.

No they are not weak-minded, they are hurting. You need to reach out to someone and talk things out.

in a way, yeah. whatever "pain" they experience in their life made them weak in body and spirit. they have to re-gain that inner strenght to move on...
