The past is a reality. Scientists do not deny the past because they can't see it, feel it, or touch it (though, for some strange reason, the Bible is guilty until proven innocent when it comes to its historical accuracy).

Scientists deny the supernatural on the grounds that they cannot put it into a bottle, add a catalyst, heat it, and produce a reaction. They don't deny the reality of the past, which they cannot see, touch, or otherwise test.

All they have of the past is the evidence that it happened. The same is true for the supernatural. The tumor was there; now it's not.

Edit: Most scientists fail to consider the supernatural. That is the only problem I have with scientists.

I suppose you could call me a creationist, though I am open to any theory that explains how life came about. The problems I have with evolution are twofold: it makes the question "was there oxygen in early earth's atmosphere?" paradoxical, and there should be plenty of transitional forms for archaeologists to dig up if evolution were true.

Hopefully, I haven't fallen into attacking a straw man... I presume you are an evolutionist...

Creationists deny evolution because it conflicts with a literal reading of Genesis. Simple as that. And that shouldn't imply that evolution is particularly damaging to Christianity. For the record: Science does not deny the possible existence of a God. It does deny that a literal interpetation of the Bible is an accurate picture of our world's history, that Genesis is literally true. It is not merely the ToE that refutes this, but geology, astronomy, biology, physics, planetology, paleontology, anthropology, and others. Entire firlds of science have to be denied or ignored to maintain a belief in a literal story of Adam and Eve, Noah, and the rest.
