IT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE YOUR TALKING ABOUT A COWLICK...
What you have is something called Alopecia Areata, which millions of people all over the world suffer from, some more severe than others. I've had atleast 7-10 different spots in the past 3 years. It can be caused by stress, or poor diet/excersize, and many other unknown causes. It is very common, but you need to take care of it before it gets bigger, or other spots start appearing. You may want to go to the doctor- however, I actually went through a treatment theray that uses something called LLLT laser to regenerate cells. There's really nothing you can do as an "at home remedy" though, unfortunately, so tell your parents to help you out as you will probably have to continue to manage this to prevent more from appearing. Good luck.

Just because there is no baldness in your family doesn't mean that you don't have alopecia. I have it and get bald spots on the back of my head. Is your bald spot very smooth? You might want to check with a doctor and see if it is alopecia. If so, there's not a cure yet.

I have one too and so does my mom. It's a cowlick - just where the hairs part and separate the wrong way. You will have to fight it all your life by teasing that spot or putting a curl there and fluffing it out over it.
