we only hear about God like in the begining of the bible and then when jesus christ comes into the picture god slowly blends out of the picture ...how come?

Try reading a translation Quran in English. You will only hear about god and its prophet only and won't get confuse.

Perhaps its because so much importance is placed on know Jesus Christ as the One though which salvation comes.
As one grows in faith and understanding one learns that Jesus and God are two of the 3 persons of the trinity.

I disagree with you completely. When Jesus Christ comes into the picture God becomes all more clearer and central in the picture.

Thats because Jesus is God in Human Flesh. But, the father is still there--that who Jesus was dependant on and prayed to...etc.
