Yes, There is even special sunscreen you can buy from tanning salons that is specifically for tattoos. It looks kinda like a fat stick of chapstick.

You should always use Sunscreen on your skin, tattooed or untattooed.

It is important to keep your tattoos out of the sun for a couple of reasons. First off it does prevent the tattoo from aging, and fading. Second, Most people experience theyre tattoo "raising, itching, and feeling hot" and the heat of the sun, can make your tattoo's scar tissue flare up.

Make sure your using a good sunscreen, most of the sunscreens out are packed full of chemicals and do more damage to your skin then you really know.

I use Arbonne Internationals ABC baby spf 30 sunscreen, its teh only sunscreen on the market that does not have synthedic's in it.

Even after it's fully healed, a tattoo is more susceptible to the sun's rays, so it's a good idea to always keep it protected from direct sunlight. If you're outside often or hang out at the beach, it's recommended that you always wear a sunscreen with a minimum sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 on the tattoo. This not only protects your skin, but keeps the tattoo from fading. So in short the answer is yes.

sunscreen is made to protect your skin. you should always wear sunscreen while out in the sun but it does not protect your ink from being broken down. the uv rays will break down your tattoo over time. the less time you spend in the sun the less your tattoo will fade and age.

I'm afraid that the sad fact is that tattoos do age with us. I do tattoo removals and see a lot of people who are now middle aged with faded tattoos that they just want rid of. You can't stop the aging process (although I plan to fight it with all I got). If you're not sure about wanting your tattoo in years to come, find out about semi permanent tattoos which fade in about 5 years. Good luck

Yes. I am proof positive of this fact. I have 11 tattoos, most of which are color, and people often believe my tattoos are fresh. My oldest tattoo is almost 10 years old, but the color is still phenomenal because I use sunscreen.

of course, if you burn your skin it fades it more and more. I use baby oil/lotion on mine before I go to bed It helps I've had my oldest for 6yrs and it has faded as much as it should have! Olay moisture in shower body lotion is great. It locks moisture in, it doesn't smell girly and if you see it in the shower odds are you'll remember it.
