Fiber - check the labels, and have 25g per day (especially from fruits and veggies), and I can guarantee you will see the results you want. Make sure you drink plenty of water at the same time.

About your question with the coffee... it is a stimulant, and it stimulates the colon to increase it's activity to ... well... get moving. But, look out, because too much coffee can cause constipation because it is a diuretic that may cause dehydration which can have constipation as a side effect.

I just discovered this remedy and it works brilliantly !! Just go buy a packet of linseeds from the health food store and put 3 tablespoons full into a mug, fill the mug with hot water and leave to stand overnight. In the morning strain it through a sieve and drink the gel type fluid only. Make sure you're still drinking plenty of water. MAGIC.............

Vegetables, bran, and other foods with fiber. Our stomach do not fully process cellulose and there it induces humans to have bowel movements. So get those fruits and veggies in there as much as possible. Some with every meal is best.

And also water! You can't pass it smoothly without moisture.

Good luck

Oatmeal, apples, bran flakes, prunes, raisins.

Also, I'll eat tangerines whole, with the skin for extra fiber.

Also, most milk products, with the exception of yogurt, will trigger a BM and massive gas for me pretty quickly, although that's because I am lactose intolerant.

fiber filled foods: Whole-grain foods (such as bran cereals) and breads (those made with whole wheat grains).
Fresh fruits (including the skin and pulp).
Dried or stewed fruits (such as prunes, raisins, or apricots).
Root vegetables (such as carrots, turnips, or potatoes).
Raw or fresh vegetables, such as cabbage. (Lettuce is actually low in fiber.)

Berries, carrots, oranges, pears, oatmeal, popcorn (weird I know!), whole wheat bread, dried fruits, bananas, potatos. You can always just drink some prune juice or have a laxative.
