Sophia...is greek first of all. So whenever you read the Hebrew Bible in Proverbs you will not see the term Sophia.
God has many characteristics. Some of them tend to lean on the female side and others on the male side. Yet they all describe one God.
One of the biggest reason's that wisdom is reffered to as a "she" in the beginning of the Proverbs is because of the compare/contrast that is going to occur between wisdom and the harlot on the street. So describing wisdom as a female just makes the imagery more distinct.

Not exactly. The vengeful, jealous God is simply a reflection of the primitive idea of God. By the time you get to the end of Bible, that view has been refined to the cosmic, transmundane Logos of the Hellenes.
Wisdom is called "she" because it has a female ending. In English, we do not have linguistic gender - so we assume that "she" must refer to a female, and "he" must refer to a male. In Greek that is not the case - a river (potamos) is "male," for example, while the ocean (thalassa) is "female." A rock (petra) is female, a stone (lithos) is male.
Sophia was not the 'goddess of wisdom.' The idea of a personified being called 'Sophia,' or 'Wisdom,' was not invented until nearly 1000 years after the verses that you are talking about.
And Sophia is not specifically Gnostic - the role of the Gnostic Sophia was borrowed from Orthodox Christianity. The most spectacular cathedral in Constantinople was called the "Temple of the Holy Sophia."
The idea of a 'female' God is just as narrow as the idea of a 'male' God. In Christianity and late Judaism, God was entirely transmundane, and could not be described as either 'male' or 'female.'

Wisdom is discernment; according to the bible it is not another Deity or God. That would ruin the monotheistic purpose..
Solomon prayed for wisdom (he wrote proverbs) faithfully, and by golly, he got it! He also received daily into his kingdom 2 tons of gold. He was the richest man in the history of mankind--and according to the Bible, none will ever be richer.
In the same manner that the Holy Spirit is described as a he; wisdom can be described as a she.
Also at this time many intimate ideas/things would be described as female; like boats, prized possessions, etc.
Love and Wisdom in the bible are not nouns or figures, they are actions.
Since wisdom is discernment, it can be assumed that Wisdom is patient and humble before making its judgments, much like a model biblical woman.
Hope that helps, and thanks for the legitimate question

Wisdom and folly are described in terms of a good woman, who can be a constructive factor in a man's life or an adventuress who will destroy him. This was used as an example, and was not speaking of Sophia or any other woman. It also was not referring to the female aspect of God. God is neither male nor female.

The more you know of the oracles of God, the more you would know of her wisdom. There is a lot of things of God and heaven and the spiritual world that is not in the Bible, that we don't know of yet, and a very few do know of some of these things, especially the ones mostly that have died, and was sent back to compete God's will, these very few know of many truths since they have been there, but to most, it's not proof.

it type of feels to me that to you, reading the Bible "rationally" ability analyzing issues into the Bible for which there is no actual literal help. whilst i'm going to agree that it is silly to easily study the Bible "actually" with out know-how what it ability (that's why in Judaism you will detect a wealth of remark on the concern), there nevertheless must be help interior the text fabric itself for what you have reported. So, in reality, you're telling us that G-d did no longer actually discuss with Abraham with a view to help your thesis of the activities. there is purely one small concern with that. in case you contend that G-d did no longer tell Abraham to do something, then you definitely assert instead that Abraham imagined it himself meaning you assert the Bible have been given it incorrect. In different words, you attempt to be "rational" approximately it, yet finally end up announcing that the Bible itself is erroneous, which i do no longer think of is what you believe.

Wisdom is spoken of as "she" because wisdom is a feminine noun. There is a similar figure of speech we use in reference ships. No one literally believes ships are feminine, it is a figure of speech.
God is not a sexual Being, He is a Spiritual Being, and when you try to understand Him in terms of sexuality you never will arrive at Truth. You are simply displaying your own sense of inferiority and insecurity. Personally I don't believe men are better than women or women are better than men. According to a natural order, they have differences, but one of the great equalizing passages in the Bible is found in Galatians 3:27, a revolutionary statement in its day, by the alleged misogynist Paul:
"For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, their is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:27,28)
In the spirit, we are equals.

There is some speculation that the Bible isn't entirely monotheistic, and that there was a concerted effort by the likes of Augustine and Constantine to suppress that fact... Perhaps this is another example of that.

Wisdom is simply accumulated philosophic or scientific learning. Solomon was simply personifying wisdom graciously given from God.
