If not, how can a 13 year old get stronger, safely andin a healthy way?

They're fine, in fact, I would encourage that you do them. BUt, if you expect to look like the rock, you defiantly won't (because you;re 13 and just doing pushups :D)

well i hope it is since im 13 and have been doing a few push ups a day 4 the past 3 years.

Yeah, push ups are fine. They dont strain your muscles. They had me doing push ups in gym glass since 4th or 5th grade.

Push ups are great and safe because you are using your body weight to gain muscle and increase fitness. Other great body weight exercises are squats, lunges, crunches/sit ups, and tricep dips.

yea pushups are ok
i try 2 do 'em but i really cant, got really weak arms
they say push ups make ur arms get stronger so....yea DO IT

Yes just don't overdo the amount. Build slowly, and you will benefit.
