Almost without exception music and movies will be copyrighted. Copyright is an automatic process and unless the copyright owner specifically waives his or her copyright then you will be breaking the law by downloading. The only exceptions would be if permission were specifically granted for you to download.
Whenever you visit a website and download anything your computer's unique ID is recorded (IP address) and it's very easy to trace.

Copyright means nothing to most people nowadays..morals mean nothing to most either..and trying to explain to people about downloading music where the writer and performer has not given their permission means nothing to most either.
This world is full of people who are out for self..and want anything they can get for nothing regardless..but heaven help anyone who speaks out against what they do..or does something not right to them or their property then look out!!...
What a "wonderful" world this has become..and I guess the next couple of generations should just about ruin anythin that is good on the planet.

try peer to peer downloading, but hey, imagine your self a book author, do you want poeple to download and read your books or music without paying anything? is that fair?
stealing a book from library or download it from internet for free without publisher permission is the same, you WILL hurt poeple.

It's not OK because It's a musician's source of money. It is basically getting your stuff for free while most people pay for it.

Nope.
Stealing.
You have to take the book *back* when you are done reading it, and you're not allowed to make copies of it in the meantime.

I think it is okay to download music. I think that the only reason that people freak out about it is because they are not getting money for CD sales.

The same could be said for a drug dealer. He/she didn't bring the drugs into the country or grow them in their backyard, so they shouldn't be liable for what happens to your kid who just bought some off of them, simply because it was "obtained illegally."
