first off, i suggest ditching the kicker idea and getting yourself a JL audio sub. itll sound much better.

regardless of that point though, kickers website does have box designs on its site. If you want tighter bass, then make a smaller, sealed box. If you want louder bass, make a larger ported/sloted box.

I dont know the specs on that sub, but i suggest looking at phoenix gold amps if youre on a budget. Assuming the sub is dual 4 ohm, get an amp that supplies slightly less power RMS (at 2 ohms) than the sub can handel RMS (if the sub is 500, give it 400. itll sound better and be less likely to get damaged). The general rule for capacitors is 1000 RMS watts needs a 1 farad capacitor.

If you want more info, IM me at Phanofmuzik on aim, or that @gmail.com. id be happy to help.

OK i looked up the specs on that, and first off, you do not want this sub. Its way too powerful for what it can produce cleanly. I would HIGHLY suggest looking at JL audio W7 series subs. they sound much better, and will still rattle your soul.

the sub is also a dual 2 ohm sub, so it will be most likely running at 1 ohm in parallel, So you would need to match it up with somewhere around a 1200 watt, 1 ohm stable (hard to find), amp. The only i know of off the top of my head is the JL 1000/1. Most are not 1 ohm stable. My xenon 1200.1 is, but i dont know if they still make it.

your other option is a 2 channel amp with about 500-600 to each channel, then put each voice coil on a channel.

on ebay youll be paying 550-600ish for a JL 1000/1, then youll spend another 100+ on a decent 1.5 farad cap, then a good 120+ minimum on wiring, assuming you do it all yourself. and then some on a box, assuming you make it.

honestly, dont expect to spend under 1 grand to get that working properly. That even assumes you do all the work yourself, and know how to set everything up. Best of luck.

I have a Kicker Solobaric L5 with a Kx600 watt amp you can get these both for about 500 i have a 1.3 farad cap and it works fine i have a side ported box which is the way yo go with the square subs i pump out 600 watts and it rattles my trunk now this wasnt too expensive so your set up will be even cheaper so get the sub and get any kicker amp for the wattage and price you like you cant go wrong you can even get away with running 8 gauge wire enjoy by the way i am a car audio installer and i swear by kicker

If you gonna spend that much money get something better like mtx 9500 or jl w7. the volume displacement sucks on solox. it might handle a lot rms watts but the sd (surface area) and the xmax (linear excursion) sucks. get a ported box boomier sound.
get an amp with same rms ratings as the subs rms ratings. get a 2or3or4or5 farad cap

the box dimensions should come in the instructions. my suggestion is definetly a ported box. Amp? KICKER ZX1500.1. It can run anywhere from $600-$1000, but i have seen them online for $500. all in all, if you get this hooked up, it will sound amazing
