How soon before the actual wedding should the bride have a bachelorette party?

Never the night before the wedding! I've seen too many brides get sick or who have hangovers on the big day. Have it a week or two before the wedding day or whatever date best suits the people invited. If people are coming in from out of town, a good suggestion would be to get them to stay for the week of the wedding and come in the night of the party (or a few days before).
Just remember, no one wants to see a frowning bride on her wedding day with running mascara and popping pill after pill of Advil!

whatever works best for the bride, it would be best to have it two days before the wedding so that way if yous decide to drink some than she will have a night and all the next day to feel better before her wedding. Try to pick the day that she is less stressful and there isnt as many things to do on her list. But make sure to have it the most a week before.

Traditionally, it's two days before the wedding. You go out and have your party, the next day is the rehearsal and last minute things, and then the wedding. But it's appropriate to have it any time close to the wedding (within the week before, especially if you are accomodating out of town guests).

Do not have it the night before the wedding though--too much partying, drinking, dancing...anything could leave the bride tired, bruised, or sore, and that would not be best for her big day.

I am doing mine the weekend before the wedding. Gives me time to party and to get over the hang over. I think that is a perfect time. Any sooner and it will get into the way of your final details. Good luck with your future wedding and congratulations!

I think two weeks before is a good time to do it. It gets things kicked off for the bride and it also lets her have time to get her last minute details in order without having to deal with going out. As you get closer to the wedding date she will be more preoccupied and will have less fun. Two weeks ahead is a good time frame for her to have a good time with her girls.

No less that four days before. Traditionally it's supposed to be celebrating your last night of being single, but you can celebrate you're last night out being single instead. You don't want to be hungover or tired when there's last minute stuff going on. I did mine the weekend before and it worked out great and it put me and my bridesmaids in a great mood for the stressful week beforehand.

You don't HAVE to have one. Personally, I think these are ridiculous, as the bride usually has a bridal shower. You can have it whenever, there is no rule about these things.
