I need to know if there is something i can put on before to make it not burn as much. Also, is there any bad side effects like blindness?

yes I have taken accidental hits but never suffered as some burn the eyes and has been a contributor to some deaths it really should be used with care in it's strong form 15% as law enforcement uses with caution and after care .. 15 minutes of flushing with water is recommended the following link is very detailes but scroll down to find more information http://www.nopepperspray.org/health_hazards_of_pepper_spray_ncjm.htm

It's pepper spray, and will calm down soon. Dilute it with water.

No, but I know that capsaicin is fat soluble. So washing with dish soap will help. Other that that, I havent a clue!
