There are MANY vets who will no longer do this so good luck finding one that will. They stopped doing it because it has no asthetic purpose, it is nothing but cosmetic surgery. I couldn't mutilate my dog for looks in a million years!!!

At my vets office it depends on how long you like the ears to be. They start at $250 and go up, and I would ask for a few additional days of pain medication just to make sure that your pup isn't in any pain. It does need to be done in the next 2 weeks.

I have owned 2 boxers and both had their ears cropped I believe I paid around $125.00 but that is just an estimate .

Everyone charges differently.

Make sure you go to a reputable veterinarian who does cropping.
Make sure you follow instructions to the letter once you get your puppy home as they may be subject to ear infections after this is done .

And no, your puppy is not to old to have it done but you should do it in the near future.

While you're at it, see if YOU can get yours done at the same time to see just how much pain that dog will be in for a month or so...leave the dogs ears alone,. Why did you buy a dog that is cute and then want to change the appearance of it?

Before you invest in mutilating your dog, check into the long term effects ear-cropping can have. I can understand if you think they look cuter, but your dog will go through weeks and weeks of excruciating pain all because you want his or her ears to stand up. And sometimes, it doesn't work well and they never stand up and will constantly get infected. My cousin had a boxer and had his ears cropped and that poor dog suffered for months with tape and lesions on his ears. That's just as bad as having a dog's tail cut off.

Ok, I just had my dobermans ears done, who was 10 weeks old at the time, and it cost $320, that included the surgery, anestisia, pain med, and 5 post op visits. She was in NO PAIN AT ALL after the surgery. They only put the dogs to sleep for 30 mins, 45 at the most. Usually they will want to keep her over night just to make sure she isnt going to try and scratch at her stitches and stuff like that. Ours isnt even going to need to have her ears taped, because we got them done at the perfect age. She will be fine, just PLEASE pay 30-50 dollars extra to get the blood work done before the surgery. It isnt necessary, but I have done it on all of my dogs(dobies, rotties, and boxers) and it just lets them know how they will do uder anestia and how much to give them. If you need anything else, feel free to e-mail me. She is 13 weeks old now, and she is perfectly fine! Good Luck

**Dont listen to all the ppl on here sayin it cruel, or mutilation. Its not their dog, its yours. And NCatt doesnt know what she is talking about, she obviously has never had a dog that needed their ears cropped. They will not crop ears until 9 weeks and 13 at the latest.

i just wanted to ask daddyzgirl if she has ever had anything cut off her with no pain involved. we all love our pets for different reasons, so let me ask this. will you love your puppy more with its ears cropped. if you answered no then love him or her just the way it is. if you answered yes then maybe this should be your last pet.

The older the dog the more is cost. It usually ranges anywhere from $75.00 to $300.00

Around here it is about $300 and vet prices here are lower than most places. Frankly if it was my dog, I would leave them natural.
