Derry might be prettier, but Belfast is much more lively as far as cultural life is concerned. The Derry accent is easier on the ear, though.

Prettier, calmer and more republican. People seem happier and more content. It really is a beautiful city, very small and contained. Belfast is more industrial, bigger, more divided.

Just my opinion of course.
