My hair is pretty dry and in the past I've used olive oil as a conditioning treatment. I just bleached and dyed my hair last night, and want to do another olive oil treatment but I don't know if that will make the color fade faster, or help the color stay longer? I can't find a definitive answer on this...

NO, olive oil will NOT make your hair look sticky, nor will it fade color, not in the least!!! if anything... it will help your hair be shiny and smooth, and healthier!!! if you want a good addition to the olive oil, add an egg mix it up really well, and cover with a shower cap, and a warm towel, then wash it out after a half hour with a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner!

do it once a week and you will have great hair!!

the egg adds protein, and YES it really works!!!

There is this product called "sta sof fro" that works very well for dry hair.

I used to bleach, dye and perm my hair alot and it worked beautifully to get rid of the dryness.

It is hard to make the color stay in your hair and depending on the color, some are harder than others.

You can apply the color more frequently, like once every 2 weeks but only do this if using a vegetable dye. What I suggest is doing more than one application using a vegetable dye, like crazy colors.

It is a product from the UK. The colors are mostly funky but they have some more "normal" looking colors as well. It will not damage your hair.

No olive oil will not help your color stay better in you hair. Go to your salon and get the proper treatment for your hair.

Read the back of a shampoo bottle that is strictly for colored hair. The ingrediants that are probably best are Tea-Lauryl sulfate, sodium larenth sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Biotin , panthenol. To name a few. You can buy the ingrediants seperately at your local vitamin stores. Henry's has an awesome vitamin section if you live in California. Simply waiting 3 days to wash it after you dye it. I don't see any bottles of shampoo for colored hair having olive oil in them. So probably not.

Olive oil is a mild solvent and as such will remove most artificial compounds such as coloring.
