You know how chicken is so common here on land? Well, the tuna is the most common thing we eat from the sea! So tuna is the chicken of the sea.

The real story is....
In the "old days," fishermen referred to the white albacore tuna as "chicken of the sea." It was called this because the white color and very mild flavor reminded them of chicken.
Also, in Japan they call tuna salad sea chicken.
The founder of a cannery liked the reference so much that he named his product the same.

I thought it was because when people eat other meats they haven't tried the popular response is "tastes like chicken". So the rule is as a generalisation that to try and get people to try other meats is to get them to think it tastes like chicken.

So maybe a lot of other fish tastes like Tuna and hence chicken of the sea?

because the meat that is mostly consumed on the earth and is mor economic is chicken well,tuna is the most favorite eaten fish of the sea so its like chicken of the sea get it?

In the ole days the fisherman called it that because of the white meat and its mild flavor which reminded them of Chicken, so the name kinda stuck.

Because, like chicken, tuna is popular and versatile (used for a lot of different foods). Actually both food types are basically "bland"... that's why they can be cooked into any type of food.

i dont like canned tuna but I think tuna is red meat though
