Because the worship of Mary isn't found in the Bible anywhere, so the worship of Mary is heresy, therefore making those who participate heretics

Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints, you, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends living here on earth to pray for you. Or, you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother living in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to saints in heaven is simple communication, not worship.
With love in Christ.

God chose the best to be the earthly mother and nurturer of His son. Possibly she was the best woman who ever lived- I wouldn't debate it. But she was a mortal woman, not a goddess. Certainly Jesus himself paid her high honor and respect- even from the cross He was taking thought for her well-being. But He never suggested anyone worship her. Nor is there any reason to suggest she wanted worship. On the contrary, her humility seems to have been one of her most outstanding qualities, and if she could answer, I think she would tell you to pray to her son, not her.

To pray to anything, or anyone, other than God Almighty is Idolatry. Jesus warns us about worshipping Idols. Mary or Joseph cannot save you, Mother Theresa can't save you, none of the Saints can save you.
Only Christ Jesus came from heaven, only He can save us.
