It's not a matter of opinion. Study after study has confirmed that sexual orientation is formed before birth. Here's a corollary: can you remember the morning you woke up and decided to be heterosexual (assuming that yoiu are)? Of course not. These are not lifestyle decisions. And no one ever became gay by being raped, molested, or reared by a domineering mother. That theory was thrown out a generation ago!

Let me ask you this: can you seriously believe that someone would deliberately CHOOSE a lifestyle that would result in his being disrespected, reviled, beaten up, discriminated against, and that would most likely prevent him from ever marrying, experiencing a real family life, or living in any way like your average contented human being?

I have a feeling that your mind is already closed and that nothing I can say will open it, so I'll shut up now.

I think it can be a combination of both. I personally feel that I was born gay, and genetically, so were my uncle, his cousin, and several other men on my mother's side of the family. In my partner's case, his was most likely due to circumstance and events during his childhood. Obviously, no one knows for sure, but similarly to twins raised apart, some features and traits are the same, while others are affected differently by environment.

First of all i don't think the love between homosexuals should be considered "wrong". Second of all people who do drugs don't necessarily "love" them, it's an addiction. Many people who have that kind of addiction don't want it, but its hard for your body to let go. You say there are some cases where "they" are raped, some being the key word. This isn't even a fact per se. This isn't necessarily "hard evidence" either. It proves nothing. I don't think homosexuality is a choice, just like heterosexuality isn't a choice. These are both part of who you are. Would you be able to suddenly decide that you are gay or a lesbian because you are raped, or had a bad relationship with a person of the opposite sex? i think you are born gay, a lesbian, straight, or bisexual. I believe many people "realize" that they are homosexuals at later ages because of the fact that society has taught them that it's wrong to like the same sex. However, you are right about one thing. Homosexuals don't have to have intimate relations with people of the same sex, just like heterosexuals don't have to have intimate relations with the opposite sex, but how long can you go on denying yourself that happiness?

No more than a murderer is born a murderer or a theif born a theif. I believe behavior is primarily determined by a combination of your environment and your choices. We are born with a certain temperment and I believe that plays a role in our development and explains WHY we interact with our environment the way we do and make the choices we do.

If one does venture down that road many absurd Q's ensue. Is there a gay gene? Does that mean babies are gay and they just dont know it yet? What about bi-sexuals? Is there a bi-sexual gene? Are people born bi-sexuals? What about people that are bi-sexuals but are more drawn to women, are they born that way?

The genetic argument exists for only one purpose- to excuse sexual immorality.

James 1:13,14,15 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man;
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lusts, and enticed
Then when lust hath conceived; it bringeth forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

No one is BORN so that they have no choice whatsoever of their final destination. Being Gay is a sin according to God. People CHOOSE to be this way, they are not born that way.
We must all CHOOSE who we will serve GOD or Satan!

Romans 1:22-32 Homosexuality is a sin among others and those which do such things , ( not only do them but have pleasure in them which do , do these things) are worthy of death

Human sexuality starts mentally and then becomes physical. So, they fantasize first and act on the fantasy later. Their assertion that they are "born that way" is a lie and an excuse to justify their reprehensible behavior.

When a person finds someone attractive and becomes aroused that feeling can go away the instant they're offended by that person. Depression is another example of human physiology being affected by thoughts. So many people fall for their lies.

My opinion is that you need to do some research before you post uninformed opinions such as this.

Homosexuality has nothing to do with being abused as a child, being raped, having temptation, or drug use. And yes, it does have a genetic component whether you think it does or not. People are born gay.

Also, I have a question for you, if you seriously think that being raped causes people to "turn" gay, then how come there aren't more lesbians? Many women are raped, they do not change sexual orientations because of the attack.

I think not, since a sex drive does not kick in until people are teenagers, I don't see how you can then be born gay, but the gay community claims to know before their sex drive kicks in that they are gay, sin, kicks in anytime is whatI would say then, so does dysfunctional family and relationships, sexual abuse usually starts out young and can cause gay behavior, being gay was once concidered a disorder. Choosing to sin is also a chose, not being born that way. Just because God does not stop it, does not mean you were born that way.

I think it depends on the individual... like being deaf for example. Sometimes people are born deaf, sometimes they become deaf because of a trauma, sometimes, they pretend they're deaf so they dont have to listen.

My best friend is gay and he says that he has been attracted to men his whole life and hadnt been molested or misstreated or anything like that. He may have been born like that. Another friend, a female, has been straight her whole life, married twice and 3 kids but has had too many bad experiences with men, that she is now attracted to women. And then you have my cousin who wants to rebel against his parents but doesnt like drugs or alcohol... he "dates" guys but they dont have sex.

I believe that homosexuality is a condition and it is not based on solely one thing. Some may be born that way, some may become that way

no they are not. It is a sexual preferance nobody is born that way. I have seen so many women say they only like men then all of a sudden say they like both men and women then turn around and say they like only women..........they keep changing it. If you are born that way you can't change it. If gay women don't like men then they have no reason to like strap ons. It is doing the same thing a man does lol
