sometimes when i am using openoffice calc to solve some calculation i get ### in the cell.

The width of the column/cell is too small to properly display the value within the cell. Simply move the mouse to the horizontal column header near the top, go to the right edge separating the two column, click and drag to the desired width.

Or, highlight the entire column by clicking on the column header, right click for options and select 'column width' for manual/precise modifications to the column width.

It means hat the resutt of the formula is too wide for the cell width. You can either reduce the font size in that cell, widen the column width or wrap the cell content in your alignment settings.

The string “15/12/fifty 5” works advantageous with me. you may attempting getting into it into Calc as '15/12/fifty 5 and the starting up apostrophe will tell Calc and Excel to maintain the precise characters you've typed without doing any calculations.

if its the same in MS Office, then theres not enough space in the box to show it adjust the width and you'll be fine
