Don't start this,I thought you went away with your rants about abortion. Its none of your business what women do with their bodies. If the men who fathered theses baby's would step up to their responsibility then perhaps different choices would be made.Plus provide a link to your numbers .I think its false inflated numbers.
Freakonomics, I loved that book. What a brilliant take on the worlds problems.Well at least in 20 yrs or so we wont have a surge in crime.

don't think all those abortions came from u.s. parents. so many immigrants commit abortion too. in any case, abortion, although seen by many to be inhumane, is still a freedom of choice that women have the right to exercise. furthermore, think of so many kids coming into the world without a father or so many of them coming into a life where they won't be able to be taken care of the right way to be given a loving home, a good education, or even the basic necessity of food, clothing or shelter because so many single persons can't even take care of themselves much less take care of another young one. the problem does not stem from the abortion, it stems from our inability to be responsible and using contraceptive measures so as not to be put in this situation. guess you are a guy like myself so we don't know or understand how so many mothers regret what they have done once they have had an abortion, or the fact that they will have to live with that guilt for the rest of their lives.

I agree.
We need to get our leaders to compromise. The far right insists on a perfect law that stops all abortions. By refusing to compromise they allowed another 1.3 million babies to die last year.
Compromise!!! Save some of the babies at least!
Most agree to allow abortions if the woman was raped or in cases of incest. It's true that even those babies are innocent, but by trying to stop all abortions it's causing that none of the abortions are being outlawed.
I happen to believe that we should have compassion on rape victims and not make them suffer the torture of a nine month reminder of the crime. It would be better if the woman could come to realize that the baby is hers, and not the criminal's.
Most agree to the compromise of allowing abortions in the first three months, but not in the last 3 months. Ones in between would need a good reason why they couldn't get it done sooner.
It's not a perfect answer, but it would save some lives that are not being saved today because of stubborness.

Actually, legalized abortion is responsible for the significant drop in violent crime. Seriously. Read Freakonomics. Considering today's unemployment and poverty statistics, most of those aborted embryos (not even fetuses yet, let alone infants - check your scientific terminology) would have ended up in prison, victims of violent crime, or on welfare. You don't quote the source of your statistics, but I find them highly suspect. However, I'm not in the mood to look up the correct numbers.
And, since you're apparently oblivious on other counts as well, the US doesn't "import slaves." Slavery was abolished quite some time ago. Immigrants come to this country of their own volition for a number of reasons. Chances are your ancestors immigrated to this country. Our policies are less liberal than those of many other countries, including the UK.

a good portion of these children's would grow up as criminals and would have jail cells as home addresses. There already is plenty of trash that we call adults and parents raping and destroying the lives of these unwanted births. I suggest those who are against abortion, that they start adopting a lot of kids.

first of all, you are not a US citizen until you are born on American soil and second, how many unwanted children have you adopted. I'm going to guess none. So if your figures are correct that is 38,000,000 more burdens to society, how many were you planning to feed. None and I bet you already think you pay too many taxes.

You've hit the nail on the head with this one!
This is the exact reason our Government is allowing so many illegals to enter the United States.
Liberals will scream over this answer but it is based on the science of 'population dynamics'.
Due to abortion (mainly) we have reduced our nation's population by 30,000,000 individuals and have create a 'population vacuum'.
Our current societal structure can not support itself, (and our way of life therefore), with out this base of new births.
Curious catch 22 to the women's movement wouldn't you say?
