first, you may want to take him to the vet to make sure that there are no other underlying issues.

next, make sure it's on the proper diet. it will need puppy food, and if you can find it "small breed" puppy food would be best.

also make sure it has access to enough water, it may be that he can't drink and wash away food particles. If the water is too high up or not in the right size bowl, it could be an issue for him.

if it was an adult, i would suggest getting "Greenies" or some pork or cow bones. They can clean the teeth as well as give your dog something fun to do. But as a puppy, I'm not sure that he would be ready for those options.

hope this helps!

If he or she is only 8 weeks old its probably just "puppy breath" which some people (me included) love. After a few months it will go away once their enzimes or whatever change. The vet can tell you too if it is something other than normal puppy breath. Also you should start now while your puppy is young brushing his or her teeth. My chihuahua is a rescue and I didn't get him till he was 5-ish and his teeth are horrible and probably beyond repair. Make sure it is dog tooth paste not human of course. There is even a spray you can buy called Life For Teeth if your puppy fights you when you try to brush. Good Luck!

There is a lot of stuff out in the market that will help freshen your puppys breath. For example, there are a lot of chew toys that will help with the bad breath. Also, there are treats that will freshen breath and help whiten teeth. Just go to your local petstore and ask a worker about these items and they will most likely have them.

Have you never smelled puppy breath before? At 8 weeks old I'm sure that's what it is. This is normal!
