Reading material placed in the bathroom (if you have such a room) for your enjoyment. It's usually placed near the bin where families like yours keep their corncobs.

Toilet paper is a thin, absorbent, and sanitized paper, usually in rolls, used to clean oneself after defecation or urination. I like to think of it as the 'fruit of the forest'. They're made from bleached kraft pulps, usually about 70% hardwood and 30% softwood. It's different from other papers because it is made through a process called 'creping'. Toilet paper can be made from scratch (called virgin) or be recycled. There are generally two types: one-ply (13% thickness) and two-ply (two sheets of 10% thickness). If you're considering buying some, I'd recommend two-ply. I've found in my studies on different brands that two-ply's absorbency levels are up to approximately 87% more effective. Toilet paper also has many uses other than personal cleanliness. There are many distinctive textures, scents, embossings, and colorings associated with this important product of nature. It's biodegradable and rolls come in different sizes. Well...I guess that's thorough enough for now. Here are a few more links:

But I'm pretty certain that you already know what it is. In the improbable instance that you truly do not know what it is, then it was a really good guess on your part to know to put your question pertaining to toilet paper in the etiquette section.
