I'm sure that people can be pressured into making a statement of faith especially if they are of the people pleasing type or desperate to be accepted, sometimes people become frightend at the prospect of hell fire and take out fire insurance.but that isn't to be confused for the heart felt conversion that takes place when one becomes saved for real.( onlinealw),s and (realitythumper,s) statements are testaments to that.you cant try to be a christian you either are or it didnt take.my story is very similar to beekays,(bless you dear) i turned away from God, but became convicted and convinced that his way is the way so when i was saved it was a real conversion ,like the song ,(I have decided to follow Jesus--- no turning back no turning back.><>

I certainly was not persuaded by a "mob" of people. One day I just happened to walk into my parents living room when they had a CD playing with a sermon on it. I had just come home from work and I sat down and was listening to what the person on the CD was saying. At that very time and place I had a moment of clarity. Everything made sense. What I had heard was complete 100% truth and it felt like a breath of fresh air. No one made me listen to the CD. No one forced me to believe anything. I did not find God. God found me.
But I should also say I'm a Messianic Jew

Greetings. I have a REAL life experience that persuaded me to become a Christian--and everytime I feel down or doubt I recall this experience. I wasn't an atheist or agnostic... I was just a lukewarm, middle of the road pretender. This happened over 20 years ago. I was at the time a mainframe computer engineer. This particular weekend I was on call and had to go to the Texaco Oil Refinery to service their computer. It was approximately 2:30am. Before going to the site I needed to stop for gas... I pulled into a 24hr self-serve station and after filling up was walking towards my car there was what appeared to be a vagrant reaching into my car... I quickly ran over grabbed him and whirled him around only to be confronted with a gun... I said take what you want. He exclaimed since I was so tough he was going to take me out. He held the gun to my head and squeezed the trigger--nothing happened. I again grabbed him--we wrestled for a minute then he kneed me in the groin--I backed off and he placed the gun in my stomach--I said Lord please protect me and give me strength. He fired the gun again--and again it didn't go off. I punched the guy in the face jumped in the car and sped off--I lifted this prayer up out of fear and desperation--Lord is this you; is this a sign? I looked in the rear view mirror and this would be robber started firing the gun towards me... and the gun fired several rounds without a problem. That was a significant "real life experience" that was convincing enough to me that God is real... I don't place any credence on luck, fate or happen-stance. It's all REAL. I do need to relate this to you... it's not the experiences or signs that should persuade you--but your faith. Faith in the knowledge that God truly loves you enough to have sent His Son to die on your behalf. Be blessed in the Lord and the power of His might!

I would say that God...no satan perusaded me, I was being chased by death, and almost died three or four times (I was not saved) but once I got saved, I never had an incident with death again, These near death experiencs make me think about where I was going to go if I had died. I gave my life to christ all alone in my bedroom after almost dying of a bleeding ulcer, before I found a church and then got saved in front of the church and then did it in public.

Under pressure I had left the church. Some time later under conviction I returned. No pressure except to not go back. Christ laid hold of me and there is no looking or going back.

No, I was completely alone, living in a city where I knew not one Christian.

I am an Atheist but I was once a christian. When I was baptized, the priest asked me if I felt the spirit of god. I said "I don't really feel different". He did something, waited another few seconds and asked the same question again. Seeing where this was going, I quickly said "yes" just to shut the fu*ker up.

Not me. I started praying and reading the Bible before I ever set foot in a church voluntarily as an adult.

Yes yes yes. I'm not a Christian anymore, but at one point I was and it was my friend who convinced me (Much persuasion) to "get saved". I got tired of going to church and all, and the whole thing just didn't feel right anyway. I even tried to "believe" but it didn't work. It makes too little sense, and I got tired of it.

some of them will say they felt none, which is a complete lie. If there was no Bible and there were no Christians, then they wouldn't be either...(good luck getting them to admit a FACT like this)
