there isn't any, but I am sure someone will say something COMPLETELY illogical such as "The Bible is the word of God because it says so".

You can't ask this question and expect what you are looking for: a rational answer. I woul dhave thought that the newfound religion Scientology would have gone a long way to convincing people that, yes, religions and faith can all be based on works of fiction. It's just so much harder to convince people when the book is very old. Religion is just a form of socially acceptable mental illness, like anorexia in the fashion industry.

How many books by scholars have you read? Im guessing 0. Well the proof is in the pudding. Try reading it cover to cover, the NIV and see for yourself. If the words of God dont convince you, neither will anyone on here!

you can believe anything you like...that doesn't make it fact. Christians seem to think this for some reason. oh yeah....there are many texts out there that claim to be written by the deity called "god". they can't all be right and in fact they contradict themselves so "god" must be confused too.

Not only no evidence, even after hundreds of years, but it is totally incompatible with modern knowledge and common sense. How pathetic the mind that can't let it go!

Faith.

edit:

to teeyodi, if they all contradict each other then obviously they can't all be written by God. That's just silly. A myriad of "holy" books doesn't prove that the truth is not in one of them. In fact it points to a conspiracy. The bible talks about that.

Since you don't believe in God, how can you believe in the word of god?

There is no proof. With proof there can be no faith. Without faith there can be no god.

You either choose to believe in a god(s) or you choose not to.
