14. I'm 23 petite and blonde. Will changing my hair colour help? It's driving me crazy! I get all the usual like you will appreciate it when your older etc. It's a joke having to constantly pull my Id out! To play the lottery even! Even at my local shops! Anyone else have this problem? Anything I can do?

Babydolluk I feel for you. If it wasn't that I was mistaken for only 14 then maybe it wouldn't be as bad. Walking down the road with my little boy the looks I get! If I go out with my my mum and she holds his hand they start saying what a credit he is to her!

Well I guess you have heard all the replies about your issue---Just remember, be grateful for what you have been given. People all over the world are short, tall, fat, skinny, and then there are those with deformities that would probably wish for fat, thin, short or tall. Do you get my hint??? I wouldn't complain about what you were given---walk, tall, be proud and respect your individuality. And men asking for ID at a bar are doing their JOB. Lottery and cigarette sales are required to show an ID---it is the law...just doing the job. Now be prepared to continue the ID process, it isn't a personal knock on you. I'm 59 and get asked for ID where required--at banks, check cashing places, ---it goes with a society that has gotten to this point. Breasts at 11 don't mean that ID isn't requested----pierced tongues and spiked hair don't prove age either---only one way to do it---show it!!!. I am sure there is not a hair color or dress style that improves an age trait. Have a really nice life, smile and walk tall.

Hey, don't worry about it! Just try to laugh it off. You really WILL appreciate it later on in life!
I'm 24, 5' 10" and get ID'd for booze all over the place here in the UK. I keep getting told I look anywhere between 17 - 20, which I'm quite happy to take as a good thing! I have proof for when I need to show otherwise!
I never got ID'd for anything until I turned 18, when I was legal for everything anyway, so it's kinda funny really.
Just roll with it, there's lots of other people who get the same thing, and they're those you wouldn't expect to either!

Hang on a minute!! I've just looked at your 360, and you don't look like any 14 year old I've ever seen before. And I mean that in a good way.
But if what you say is true, then there are far worst things in the world than being a pretty, petite blonde girl who looks young for her age. So cheer up ;~)

My daughter has this problem all the time and she is 22 and petite like you...also blonde and oddly enough she did put a temporary colour in her hair the other day so it's light brown and I think it does make her look older.

She works in a bar some evenings and she got stopped at the door by a bouncer (who obviously didn't know her), and she had to explain she worked there!

I have this problem and I'm soon to be 30. What I did was changed my hair. I wear make-up now also you can try dressing in more age appropriate clothing. Not slutty but sexy mature. Showing just enough skin an appeal. That older guys will take interest and people in general that this must be a grown woman. You will be surprised what new clothing can do.

it must be a pain to deal with the jokes and comments, i believe u. embrace your looks and work with what u got. pull out your i.d when they ask for it and instead of hating doing that, relish the look on their faces when they see how old u really are..lol if u can't change things, then don't avoid them, go towards them. eventually, u will learn how to deal with it and stop letting it dominate your life. you are 23, petite and blonde? come on! sounds to me like your problem is looking too young right? wow. i wish i had that problem. don't change your hair, curl it, put some lip gloss on, throw on a cute outfit and hit the club...you're fine just the way u are. throw out the bs and act, feel, and talk like you are a confident grown woman. besides gf there are probably guys here thinking "what is her phone #?" use what u got!

I had that problem myself, but my solution was easy for me. I grew a beard. Since you are a woman, then that really wouldnt work for you. Sorry. Here is a better solution. Stop worrying about what other people think. If you are annoyed at how other people treat you. Join the club. Life has bigger problems to be bothered with than small things like age and appearances. Find people that go deeper than that.

It could be your hairstyle (not necessarily the color) or what you wear. Its hard to say what it is about you unless we can actually see what you look like. Look at other women your age and look at yourself, do you notice anything different that marks you as being really young looking? Your height definitely may play some role in it; but if you dress in a mature fashion, people will think you are older.

A few late nights? I often get asked for ID and i'm 26, at the other end of the scale though, I have been mistaken for being mother to my 18 year old bro! Bizarre or what? I blame late nights!

And looking younger than you really are is a problem? People think I'm older than I am- go with the flow and feel blessed that you can look young. Life will age you soon enough as it is.
