I guess maybe because a majority of christians in America today, and England (Think before american colonization) are/were white and they decide they want to see him as being white too. Many people don't think about the fact that the events of The Bible took place in the middle east, therefore people in the Bible are portrayed as white.

Well, actually different Christian cultures usually portray Jesus as one of their own race. I have seen many portraits of Jesus where he was black, middle-eastern, Hispanic.... Everyone wants to think that Jesus was a member of their race. Why? To feel closer to him or for some, to feel more powerful. We have seen Jesus portrayed more often as a white man because usually on TV networks and movies it is white men who write or produce them. One only needs to think about the goeography to know what race that Jesus was.

forgive me for my confusion. some say Jesus is the son of God. Others say that Jesus is God. Since little, i've always wonder how Jesus can be the son of God and the God at the same time. If Jesus is God, then God was baby who was born with blood all over him, need to be feed, and have to learn. And later, the great God was murdered by some weak human? God should be better than that. And now some people say that he have child. So, that baby would be like the grandchild of God and also the child of God? So much confusion. Maybe it is you who've been confused. Who have the final say then? God-father, Jesus-God or baby-Jesus God? lets have some critical thinking about that. i'm going to convert to religion with only one God. life should be simple. simple is good, but not any simpler.what about you?

This is because the most famous paintings portraying Jesus were by European artists during the Renaissance. They were not the most historically accurate in the world.

i've got have been provided that one. the familiar western image of Jesus became a effect of the artwork of Italian Renaissance painters. Theirs became the image that caught on in Europe and later, in u.s.. the difficulty is, that they had no concept what Jesus regarded like! Having on no account seen a center jap guy, that they had no reason to believe that a Jew could look any distinctive from an Italian. Even the hairstyle is greater present day to Raphael than it is to Jesus. So yeah, we ought to constantly actual replace the portrayal according to what all of us comprehend right this moment, yet cultural photos are difficult to interrupt.
