Okay those of you have have read my hundreds of questions I finally went to the doctor today for my follow up to my positive tests for PCOS...The doctor went ahead and gave me meds today...he put me on Fortamet instead of metformin...He said it's extended release to help me with the neg side affects...has anyone else took this or switched from metformin to fortamet....I do have regular periods but we are unsure if i'm ovulating or not. So along with the meds I am going to start ovulating tests....the main thing with the fortamet was for my weight...hoping it will help me loose weight and slow the growth of my facial hair....If anyone has any stories or ideas please let me know....thanks

like what you said, fortamet is extended release but it is still metformin.. i dont see much of the difference just the extended release.. maybe in the dosing.. you're right in saying that it will help you lose weight provided that you eat the right kinds of food.. i dont think it has an effect on facial hair growth..

it's good that you will undergo ovulatory workups.. goodluck!!
