Can't speak for everyone else, I for one have the ability to arm and organize a large group of people. The comment about all of our troops being in Iraq is uneducated at best. If our country were to be invaded I think you'll would really love us redneck, trailer trash, gang banging, hard arses. Especially the ones who could shoot.....dang we can hit a squirrel at 75 yards with a small caliber rifle....think what we could do against bigger targets with more firepower.

Anything larger than a sneaky few people at a time wouldn't make it. With today's technology, we seem to know if anyone's even looking in our direction. Any major movements would be immediately detected and stopped before they could get very far, with long-range missiles, aircraft, etc. Technology has drastically changed the face of war. There are a few countries with long-range missile capabilities to hit us, but to get a landing force here, I don't think so.

Even if they made it ashore the world would see our nation is much like Iraq. We may be factious, but we are armed and ready, in the civilian sector. Good thing so many citizens are vets!

xxlboxers, I don't know about your city, but, Metro-Atlanta has regular air patrols, flying from Dobbins AFB, NAS Atlanta, the Army Air Field here, As well as from Ft Gordon, Ft Benning, and Ft Stewart. The US Navy has a Sub base in King's Bay, Georgia, as well... It ain't happenin' here.

There is one country and its ally who could do this. It is China, and its ally Russia. They have millions of troops, not hundreds of thousands, as we do, and the Chinese have just tested one of their anti-ballistic missiles successfully. We have not. They shot down one of their own satellites. They could destroy our satellites. They have nuclear weapons, and nuclear submarines.
They are a Communist country, not a Democracy, which makes it seem odd that George W. did not go after them, since his reason for our aggression in the Middle East is supposedly to bring Democracy to those people. The reason is obvious...He is afraid of them.

They would never make it to the shore. The only way you can attack America is with terrorism, and until we tighten up the borders, the opportunity will be there.

I would advise them not to try and invade the South, especially during deer season. They'd probably make it ashore on part of the west coast and the New England states, since they're unarmed.

They wouldn't even make it to shore. They would be blown out of the air or water.

They may make it, they may not. Depends on our ability to intercept in time. But if they did, I think there would still be those that would hide out and not fight back. That the nature of peaceniks. Some would rather join the enemy than fight.

If they did make it, which they wouldn't. We would find out who they were and annihilate their country. No questions ask.
