Its good that you care about this class. As a Junior I took AP English Language and AP American history.

I can honestly say that I hated the AP American History class because my teacher was often a dick and my book was filled with so many puns and was so loquacious that I didn't think I was even going to pass the AP test in May.

However, I didn't lose hope. Starting at about this time of school year, last year of course, I bought the Kaplan and Princeton Review test preperation booklets for AP American history. I tried getting through at least 1 chapter every week starting in February and kept reviewing up until the test date.
To clarify, I didn't get a perfect score of 5 on the test and only got a 4, but I would have scored much lower if I didn't buy a prep book.

A word of advice for you from one AP student to another, be extremely careful about utilizing your time effectively because the test can really screw you up and also be careful about skipping the questions that you have absolutely no idea about.

You can go onto Amazon.com and just search for Kaplan Test Prep or Princeton Review test prep or go to Kaplan's website: http://www.kaptest.com/repository/templates/Lev2InitDroplet.jhtml?_lev2Parent=/www/KapTest/docs/repository/content/High_School&source=kap_home

I also thought it was going to be hard, but believe me you don't need any prep book, because the test is so easy!!!! I got a 5 on it with flying colors!!
