good look, sort of a 'Miami Vice' retro look? An, if I want to draw more attention, sandals?

You can't beat bermuda shorts and a wife beater. It's the most classic look.

I attended a wedding that where being casual was encouraged. I wore a pair of black jeans and a nice T-shirt.
But unless Miami Vice is the theme I suggest a 3-piece suit a carnation in the button-hole, and a pair of shoes that you would wear to a church.

Unless the invitation says the wedding is at a beach or stated that the dress was "casual" you are going to look and probably behave like the wedding guest from hell.

I wish this question had been asked in sincerity since so many people do wonder about dress code issues at weddings.

If you're looking to draw attention, then that is a great look...but if the theme isn't Miami Vice, then wearing something like that would be very rude.

unless that wedding specifies it, or is ON the beach, you do NOT wear jeans to a wedding!
nice pants, shirt, tie, and cleanshaven (unless you have a goatee) would be the only thing to wear. that day is not about you, it's about the couple getting married. if you want attention, have a party. you will ruin the couple's wedding if you wear that ridiculous outfit.

oh, wait...i just read your other questions. that explains the numb-nut question.

unless specified on the invitation, i would never, ever wear jeans to a wedding. The most casual thing that you can get away with is a nice suit or at least nice pants and a sport coat. Please tell me you were kidding.

COWBOY BOOTS, and don't bath for at least two days.... plus chain smoke through the whole wedding and ***** really loudly about your civil rights if they ask you to put it out. I personal would try to grow a Burt Renolyn's mustache if you have time.

LOL.......the kind of jeans that make you're bum look hot! Sandals would be good too, don't forget the sunglasses though. They'll complete the look.

Cute. I'm sure the bride will be very happy about that. Oh, you are the bride? In that case, you should wear whatever you want!
