Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000
. Now add 30. And another 1000.
Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10.

What is the total? (in your head)

MUST BE DONE IN YOUR HEAD ONLY.

Okay, for the majority of you, you probably got 5000 adding it in your head. Almost ALL people get this answer that its scary and wrong!

Nearly everyone who "honestly" did it in their head would get "5,000". Then you use a calculator and realize.. that you were indeed wrong. 4100 is correct.

Those of you who cheated by using a calculator, try it in your head and see if you can still get the correct answer. =)

(You will get 5000 if you do it in the order that you are asked)

There are 4 1000s
and then 40+30+20+10=100

How do you get tricked from 4090 to 5000, seems like you might be retarded if you did that?

Hey jerk, don't tell me I'm dishonest. Just because I know how to add doesn't mean I used a calculator. If you've done Algebra you know to put like terms together and I saw 4 1000's and I added the rest. Much easier than those who tried to add it up singularly.

I got 4100, but i can see why some ppl will get 5000, it a very cool trick :)
