His is one of the few programs on the FN that I really enjoy! He is always interesting, engaging, and often funny as hell. Alton's show keeps me watching the FN despite a lot of the other crap they show.

I do.

I find that Alton Brown and Marc Summers are a one two punch of confectionery awesomeness.

Alton is pretty cool but sometimes when his ego comes out, it gets a bit ugly, he is definitely very competitive about his food knowledge, it is like he is always trying to show off. To be honest a lot of those Food Network hosts are like that, Alton, Rachel, and Emeril in particular. Put all 3 on camera together and they would probably keep trying to talk over each other, each wanting to be the center of attention. I bet a sizable portion of entertainers in general have this quality, but it sure is embarrassing to watch sometimes.

I do. It's funny you mentioned that....I was just watching "Good Eats"!!!! Great show. Alton is hilarious, too, I agree. The food gods have truly blessed us.

Alton Brown is great, but Wolfgang Puck is the best. They should bring Wolfgangs show back.

I like the fact that he explains so much of the science behind the recipes and the cooking process. (How the various spices interact, etc...)
Do NOT like the juvenile humor, and always end up wanting to slap the piss out of him. Reminds me too much of the dumbass comments that guy on "America's Funniest Home Videos" would always make...

To use a famous food quotation:

I LOVE his shows.
Good Eats is so informative.

(And I am glad that we get the best Canadian shows, the best UK shows and the best American shows on Food Network Canada to make for a great channel.
My new Favourite Canadian show is Ricardo http://www.foodtv.ca/ricardoandfriends/ )
