does anybody know if Limewire will work on UBUNTU? and if it doesnt are there any other P2P software that is not bit torrent suz they are so slow.

YES. Limewire uses the GNUtella protocol which was made for the gnu project. Because linux is in reality GNU/Linux and therefore uses GNU tools. The real question is if gnutella will work on linux.

GNUTella and limewire are at their native home on linux.
Windows is a completely alien environment. The GNUTella protocol was not really meant for it although there are now ways to use it.

You can get Limewire, Gnutella, eDonkey, and a few others on linux.
