You can set it in the night with rollers. Take a shower and then apply some nice thickening conditioner and put big rollers in your hair. In the morning, take out the rollers, and put in some anti-frizz serum. Or, you can wait until morning and just curl it with a curling iron.

first use a good conditioner and leave it in for a few minutes before rinsing. then do not rub hair, pat and squeeze with a towel to dry it. if you use a dryer use a diffuser, it will cut down on the frizz. then use a cooler setting and at the end use cool air. Always rinse in cool water too. It closes the cuticles. Then you can use a hot brush to smoothe it out or a curling iron or just braid it all over and let it out when it dries for a natural wave look. It is up to you how much time and work you want to put into it. You can use steam rollers also and use fingers to shape hair when you take them out and maybe spray it to hold the curl. Good luck.

Use a product like L'Oreal Anti Frizz. My friend has the most curly, frizzy hair I had every seen in my life and she began using this, and I am amazed!
Also use a styling product like a cream or "lotion" made specifically for curly hair. Once you put the anti-frizz and the cream through your hair, DO NOT touch it! Let it dry on it's own. Once you touch it or run a brush or fingers through it the frizz will return!
If you must blow dry, use a diffuser (another thing my friend swears by for her curls) If you hair is long, you can simply put the product in your hair, and just let your hair lay right on the diffuser and dry it. Again, just let it lay there...do not touch it or run a brush or comb through it.
Since doing this my friends hair looks fantastic. She looks like she went on one of those makeover shows!

With potentially frizzy hair, it's most important to NOT mess with it too much as it's drying.
Something that helps me is to wash my hair twice (literally, following the instructions of "lather, rinse, repeat"), then saturate it with conditioner. After it's covered with the conditioner, comb through it with a comb, then rinse the conditioner out. There is even such a thing as a "shower comb" you can buy, but any medium-to-wide-toothed comb will do.
After the shower, before you wrap your hair up in a towel, run some leave-in conditioner through it (V05 or similar), especially covering the ends. Then, also apply a small-to-medium amount of mousse for curly hair (the amount based on your hair length). Hair gel is an alternative to mousse, but is heavier and therefore sets with a less-natural looking curl. It's still a good option for fancier-looking curly styles, high-humidity, or windy days. ;-)
Anyway, after applying the products, wrap your hair in a dry towel, but DO NOT rub out the moisture or wring out your hair, just leave it wet.
After about fifteen or twenty minutes, unwrap your hair - it will be damp, but no longer soaking wet. With a "rat tail" comb, you now need to shape strands of your hair into curls. Again, there are special combs that you can by just for that purpose. I just use the rat-tail comb; I comb through a strand from base to end, then twirl the hair inward, shaping it into a spiral curl. Whether large or small strands is up to you; smaller strands of course take more time.
The most important thing, after you shape all the curls, is to LEAVE IT ALONE. Do not touch your hair until it is completely dry. Consider investing in a diffuser/hair dryer if naturally drying hair is not a good option for you (but drying natural is best for frizz-inclined hair).
When your hair is completely dry, you can separate the curls, or shake them loose, depending on your hair texture and/or length. Use a curling iron for touch-ups. For more lift at the crown (where it might look flatter), don't run your hands through your hair, it will encourage frizz again. Instead, flip your hair over and lift your hair with your fingers up from the scalp, but not all the way through.
Another thing that might be going on is that you may be washing your hair too often, especially if you have THICK frizzy hair. Consider washing it less often, and intermingling shampoo washings with just conditioning. Your scalp, if it gets oily, is not necessarily dirty; it may be a sign of over-drying. Your hair might likewise be frizzing up with the drying effects of the shampoo (which is basically just detergent). It is also important to wash your hair twice when you do wash it; the second washing requires less shampoo to get a lather, but is still necesary to remove build-up, especially if you use styling products.

Dream Curls (by John Frida) works MIRACLES! I love it...I have that kind of hair that's in between wavy and curly and often goes frizzy if I don't do something with it. Dream Curls is like a spritz of leave-in conditioner...it minimizes the frizziness, but leaves your curls soft and shiny...seriously, I love it. =P
