I mean do they want to be there or not? What percentage want to be there fighting? What percentage thinks it's a good cause. It's an easy question.

My educated guess would be in the mid to high 90s.
They all enlisted and new what could happen.....The Military Pride is always one of : We have a Job....get it done"

No one hates war as much as a veteran....but nearly all know it what needs to be done. Unlike VietNam, where 45-65% of the troops were drafted....they did not want to be there...so they would weigh the poll down So far, only 1000 military personell have made it public, that they are against the war..that is less than 1% ( no doubt the Liberal faction)

My son has been in Iraq since October and I can't tell you about the rest of the American troops but I can tell you about how one Marine feels, does he like taking the life of another human-being? Of course not. Would he like to come home, of course he would. 99% of your "American troops" are under the age of 23. Most of them have not been out of the state they live in except for an occasional vacation with their family. Do they think they need to be there? Absolutely 100% Maybe.

I think they believe what they are doing is the right thing, however, if the truth were known, that they were sent there with the wrong intentions then I feel many more would protest. They are simply carrying out orders, that's what they were trained to do. I'd say roughly 80% of them want to stay to finish the job. Question is what job are they there to do. We get conflicting reports from our leaders as to what job they are supposed to be doing. Bring our troops home.
Most of them doooo want to come home, but when the job is done. Leadership changes must put a question in the troops minds as it does mine.

I under no circumstances examine that e book, so i'm able to't contact upon that, yet i imagine the expenditures of the conflict far outweighed the benefits. If something, they ought to have purely marched on Baghdad lower back in desolate tract typhoon, it would have kept money a minimum of, and with the UN backing, it doesn't weren't person-friendly to get allies to assist pay for reconstruction and help grant protection.

Every time I go visit the VA in Indianapolis, or Danville IL, the majority of soldiers I talk to want to go back to finish the job. Some have said they feel guilty being back here, even though they were injured and the majority have been medically discharged. I think the number that think we need to stay and win would be in the high 70's to mid 80's. The way to win is, untie their hands, and pull the damn media out of there.

I'm so glad you brought this up! In my small town of 3500 we have 79 who enlisted in the Iraq war and most of them have reenlisted for the 2nd and some for the 3rd time! I think it would be a shock to the country to find out just how right you are!

Those who are there are doing the job they trained for. SO yes, they want to be there. Of course they want to go home, too. I know they miss their families and friends, but most of them want to be there doing their job. My husband was very disappointed when he wasn't able to go.
