Once is fine, and you always have the option to tell her that you're just not available. Two or three times in the same year is the start of a habit, and you should put your foot down if you're not comfortable with it.

No not at all I'd be delighted to babysit someone for free maybe they have money problems there trying to work out thats not a bad thing a lot of people have money problems. They probably don't want to have strangers in newspapers watch them so there choosing someone they trust. If your busy don't babysit no big deal.Oh and if you don't want to babysit or drive her then say kindly no.

You shouldnt be insulted. You should be irritated. Your neighbor is trying to take advantage of your kindness.
Tell your busy schedule does not allow the time to Babysit. If she asks why you are busy or why you cant do it, ask her "Why do you want to know". THat question is a good way of turning the tables and making her realize (in a polite way) that she is bothering you

Insulted no, used yes. If she's really down on her luck then maybe you can help her out but still ask her if she can plan a little further ahead and to communicate instead of just 'sending her daughter over'! You have your own life to lead!

Insulted is not the word. More like Pi * *ed off.
On the other hand you never know what is going on in her life that might bring about a need . Give her some time and try to figure out what is going on.

well I guess it depends on what the women is doing that she cant baby sit her own children if she is going to college something like that I would sit them if I had no other plans but If i had plans no I would not keep them
I would not let her run over me in any kind of way and this is running over you taking advantage of you She needs to do something giving her a ride to work I would do that no harm in it but free baby sitting thats being kinda pushy you need to talk to her and tell her you can't baby sit all the time...

i wouldnt really be insulted i would just feel kind of used. i would tell my neighbor.... politley but firmly that if they had money to go somewhere then they should have money for a babysitter..... as for the car situation ther is such thing as a bus or a cab.... its not your responsibility to take care of your neighbor..... you have the choice of saying NO! and you should excersise it because if you dont they will continue to walk all over you. trust me!
good luck

Work is one thing, babysitter is something else----mooch, stay clear of her.If you would have said that you would take her to work for 10 dollars then she would never of ask you to babysit.Take it from a senior, mooches will try anything.Do not do anything for FREE.I know that it sounds mean, but let her know that you have made a mistake in trying to help and it will never happen again.Do not let her do it to you,it will only get worse.Be careful of mooches.......

Well, I can't say I would be insulted, they obviously trust you. But if you are being taken advantage of, you need to start saying "no" in a kind way. Do not let yourself become a doormat.

nope, only if it continued for weeks, which has happened to me before. just act kinda bluntly and make an excuse which is obviously a lie up, to send the message, cuz its kinda hard to be argueing with a neighbor if i spelt that right.
