What kind of dog? Cause if he grows up to be a skinny tall dog it won't suit him.
Now if he is a pug or something really furry I think its cute!
You could call him Bud for short.
We have a registered pure bred miniature schnauzer named Elizabeth but we call her Libby, Lib or Libbens.
You should practice calling it out to see what it sounds like. You don't want to be outside in public calling your dog a name that will embarass you.

That would be a great name but it would fit the dog's name even better is it were a little chubby.

Don't like it, you might as well call him teapot. I have a friend who named her dog Diesel. Now thats a nice macho dog name.

only if you spelled it 'Butterball'
and I would only name a dog that if he were round and tubby
(maybe a bassett hound?)
(hey, I'm not bashing bassett hounds - I love them - used to have two of them)
