All Rocket 350's will fit.

Drop in and change the carb and Dist. 69 to 72
Change the cam and Carb 73 to 78

Or step up to the 455 Yes step up...

whatever year is closest to the engine youre replacing.im not real up to date on olds engines, but i know chevy had a mild redesign around 84 or 86, so you might want to stay on one side or the other of that if you can.
