12 years ago my husband and I used Nicabate patches, they were a lot more expensive then and you needed a prescription from the doctor, We have not smoked since and if nothing else we are both happier that we did it all those years ago, we were very heavy smokers.
Good luck and stick with it, it is worth it in the end.

I'm inclined to agree with Brown Eyes.

The generic brand couldn't be any worse than Nicabate.

I'm on Nicabate at the moment, and while they work excellently I find that I have trouble in the hot weather keeping the patches adhered to my skin.

The glue they use is a smelly one (kinda smells like fish oil) and once you start to perspire, even a little, they start to lift at the corners.

Yesterday (and it was only about 26C) mine just fell off my arm and I wasn't even perspiring that much.
