honey let me tell u from experience of making stuff and love baskets and anniversary photo albums and a whole relationship album, Even creative gifts such as naming a star after his name, or a tree, having a personalized romantic novel written just for your relationship, etc. They don't care and no they don't appreciate it, they think you just gave them a cheap gift even when somethings putting all of those things together ends up being really expensive they just don't know and don't get so unless u have a hopeless romantic give all that crap up and just buy him one big gift trust me he will like it so much more than all that lovee dovee stuff and think yourt the best and coolest girlfriend who understands him thats if you are dating a "normal" man if your dating a hopeless romantic than i am sure he will understand and appreciate the home made stuff.

It actually depends, with this I mean that if the gift is way over the top (EXPESIVE AND BEAUTIFUL) well then you might make the guy feel bad when he realizes that the gift he got you looks bad next to yours. You see you should realize that many men dont think like women and therefore we dont really put much effort into sentimental things like Gifts, And also we dont put too much feeling into things that are given to us... So dont feel bad if you see the gift you gave the guy up on the shelf and forgotten about... Good luck with finding the gift...!

Oh come on now!
Without cross questioning you, just how can 'we guys' KNOW just how much effort 'you girls' have spent in coming up with the perfect gift...!!
It's a really difficult question to answer as I can only speak for me ~ AND ~ the answer depends on whether I consider it to be the 'Perfect' gift - for me. AND, if it is the 'Perfect' gift, then the answer is surely that the receiver is going to take it home, look at it, cuddle it, sleep with it and think of you all the time he uses it (and otherwise) - IF IT IS that much of a 'Perfect Gift.'
Surely. No?
And, anyway, HOW do you KNOW it is thee quintessential Perfect Gift?
What constitutes this 'Perfect' gift ~ for this guy, or that or the other guy?
Sash.

If I get a gift from a lass then the first thing I think of is the lass that bought the item for me and secondly I wouldnt hold it, I would hold the lass.
And I would realise the effort that has gone into the item being bought.

No, there is no point and no we don not think of all the effort that goes into the card, the ribbon on the card, the tying of the ribbon on the card, the present, the paper wrapping for the present, the texture of the paper that wraps the present, etc.
Really, don't kill yourself.
Just come to bed wearing lace hose, high heels, and a smile. Now *there's* a present with the right wrapping and thought.

Personally, I do not think that guys put the effort into a "perfect" gift that girls do. Most guys do the last minute thing.

Personally I am always pleased to get anything. I think I am easy to buy for as I love heavy metal music, rock music, jazz music (actually I love most music), black clothes, anything to do with Doctor Who, books and DVDs. There must be something easy amongst all that.
I am always grateful for gifts. I find some people hard to buy for. Especially my friend Chris who is the hardest man to buy anything for (except my Dad). But most of my mates are easy to buy for as they all have at least one unusual interest or hobby I can seek out things for.
So yes I appreciate how hard it can be to choose gifts and I am very grateful for any gifts (especially toy Cybermen - hint hint!).
I hope whatever gift you choose is appreciated.

I think it should not be rocket science finding a gift. For the holidays I always give home made cake and some tea or hot coco.

Honiez, the only gift I need is my lady...just knowing she spent the time getting me something would be enough for me to show how much I appreciate it!
