I do not think of myself as an addictive personality, but I seem to have an addiction to Tea, Cheese (great Roquefort at room temperature) with minor addiction to olives, gherkins, tobacco and alcohol (choosy), and had past addiction to sex (with females)

Addiction to reading, writing and staying up late.

Maybe, I will have some dreams?

Wallace from "Wallace And Gromit" is addicted to cheese. In "A Close Shave", he really likes this lady, and he asked her if she wanted any cheese when they were at his house, and she said she couldn't stand the stuff. He had this total look of shock on his face and never talked to her again just because she didn't like cheese. Now THAT'S an obsession.

Tea and cheese... have you been reading my blog? I have a "today I have mostly been eating..." section where mostly I put cheese down as that is all I eat these days! And as for tea - I must have 10 cups a day minimum!
I like olives too.

You might be addicted to cheese as it has kasomorphines in it that are addictive. And you might be addicted to delicious tea. But you certainly have good taste!

My cat is totally addicted to cheese! Soon as he hears the fridge open he's there like a shot! If I have cheese on my plate he'll steal it, he's normally a food thief!

I think addictions helps to distract us from the real worries and problems in our life...the brain makes an error and knows you need 'comforting' and when you don't know how to deal with the real issues, you smoke or eat etc. and get temporary relief.

Paula Deen's Baked Garlic Cheese Grits recipe is awesome! 6 cups chicken broth 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 2 cups regular grits 16 ounces Cheddar, cubed 1/2 cup milk 4 large eggs, beaten 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter 8 ounces grated sharp white Cheddar Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 4-quart casserole dish. Bring the broth, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan. Stir in the grits and whisk until completely combined. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the grits are thick, about 8 to 10 minutes. Add the cubed Cheddar and milk and stir. Gradually stir in the eggs and butter, stirring until all are combined. Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish. Sprinkle with the white Cheddar and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until set.

Haha, well I don't know about cheese, but I do have a 'chocolate problem'.

I don't know the details just off the top of my head, but I know there are things in both cheese and chocolate that can be termed 'addictive'.

And then tea has caffeine in it, which is DEFINITELY a dependence-producing substance.

Olives? lol I can understand I have some strange habits too.

But try not to think of them as addictions so much. I know it's kind of fun sometimes to term things as addictions, but they don't have to be, many of them...and it could be you're just used to having something, or used to doing something. Doesn't mean you're bound and controlled by it.

EDIT:

Okay, cheese...
"The opiates in milk may be responsible for the calming effect of nursing in infants -- and perhaps for the addictive qualities of cheese.

"In 1981, Eli Hazum and his colleagues at Wellcome Research Laboratories in Research Triangle Park, N.C., reported a remarkable discovery. Analyzing samples of cow's milk, they found traces of a chemical that looked very much like morphine. They put it to one chemical test after another. Finally they arrived at the conclusion that, in fact, it IS morphine. There is not a lot of it. But indeed morphine has been found in both cow's milk and human milk."

So yeah...just thought I'd share that little tidbit with you. There is morphine in milk, and therefore cheese. I don't know much about this really, I dug it out of a book I found, because you got me very curious.

Oh cheese, cheese, cheese. Yes cheese goes with anything and can be eaten at any time on its own. Very easy to become addicted but you can't beat it. Try the right cheese once and you'll never be able to stop. Mine is very strong Cheddar but we're all different!

I love cheese too. But I try not to eat too much as it is rather fattening. I can quite easily for dinner have cheese and crackers. Yummy! But hehehe to be honest you do seem to have a bit of an addiction ;)

My best friend is completely addicted to cheese, and chocolate, unfortunately for her, both are about as fattening as you can get. I'm not a big fan of cheese myself, but I do get powerful cravings for bacon and bree toasted sandwiches every now and then.

I'm addicted to Dr Who, beat that!!
