ICE CREAMMMMM!!!! And just deal with the rest of the pain because it will go away after a day or two. If the braces are cutting your gums, put dental wax, & if you cant take the pain, call your ortho. and he/she will prescribe something. Good Luck...and just think of your beautiful smile at the end :-)

Ok what war your orthodontist thinking. they cant say dont take any pain medications. When i got my braces on they where like take any pain reliever you want. But if your parents are strict then eat ice cream, and other things that are cold or east to eat.
