HTM implies that the file you have downloaded is a Hyper Text (basically a web page) HTM or HTML are the same type of file. You should be able to open it in you normal browser. Assuming you have a Windows workstation you should be able to open it in Internet Explorer the "E" icon. other options could be FireFox, Netscape Navigator, and/or Eudora. This is just a few. But let me also warn you that you want to make sure of the source of the file you have downloaded, as HTM files can have virus' attached. If you are trying to play a video you may have to go back to where you downloaded and re-download the actual file you are looking for.
Hope this helps ***

Depending on what it is you can open it up with notepad, but I doubt you are trying to do that 'cause then you would be editing it, HTM stands for Hyper Text Markup , which is another version of HTML which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language, what this all means is that is is likely a web page , so you have to open it in your internet browser. I.e. internet explorer or mozilla firefox, or what ever your internet browser is.
