If he is getting a green card, then he is not an illegal. I don't see the problem. He has done it the correct way and I would welcome him. It's the people that don't make the effort to be legal that people have problems with.

Land of the free means that one is free to do things the legal way and to profit the legal way. Everyone is free to better themselves the legal way.

If I went to your home and said, I am not going to help you pay your rent, contribute to the food budget, or help pay the utility bills and you have to accept me in your home., how would that make you feel?

If I snuck across the border to Mexico and took advantage of that country's resources without becoming a citizen, I would be jailed. Why should America be any different?

My daughter has been trying for years to get her fiance` into the country but he is in a long line behind illegals.

Now, you tell me what is fair.

It is the land of the free, but without law we wouldn't be. Think about it, if we just let anyone in America we would get more diseases(not calling imigrants diseased, just stating the obvious) and the unemployment rate would shoot up because there wouldn't be enough jobs to support all the new people. There has to be a balance, and when people immigrate illegally it disrupts that balance. Also, when people immigrate illegaly, it's like moving into someone else's house without permission, how would you like to have someome move into your house, eating your food, voting on your house rules withough permission? No, I don't hate illegal immigrants, but I am strongly against them invading America instead of trying to better their government.

Yes, America is land of the free, but unfortunatly they also have laws. One of those laws is that you must be a citizen or have a Visa to live in the US. I do think it should be easier to become an American citizen, but I think going through the long process to do it legally would have more benefits than going there illegally & hiding from the govenment for your entire life.

What part of ILLEGAL do people not understand? America is (supposed to be) the land of the free for legal citizens, not provider of free land for law breakers.

Your father is wrong about one thing. Republicans love illegal workers and will never get rid of them. Illegals are a form of cheap labor for them. Illegals clean there houses and work in there oil fields and factories for much less than legal citizens. This means larger profits and Republicans are all about money above all else.
As far as me I thing that if someone is willing to break the law because he needs to feed his family then more power to him. I would do the same if roles were reversed.

There are legal and illegal ways to do things. If your dad is doing it the right way legally then there shouldn't be a problem.

Illegal ones no I don't. They give the ones who are trying to do it
the legal and right way a bad name.

I have never met one that i didn't like. I like everyone until I get to know what a person is like, I do not judge people from their status.
