Why does my nephew grit his teeth?

My nephew is going to be 2 years old this next week...ok off subject....I'm wanting to know how I can get him to stop gritting his teeth all the time. it's really getting on my nerves and it can't be good for his teeth so if you know of anything I'd really appreciate it.

Nightguards help with grinding at night, but I don't think that you could get a two-year-old to wear one. Besides, I don't think that they make them for two-year-olds. Call a dentist and ask for their advice. It doesn't cost any money to ask a few questions over the phone.
