my dad passed recently and the kids lawyer is trying to find out
if they are still listed but dads lawyer is not giveing info to kids
or their lawyer yet how can we get info

Doesn't matter if you get a copy of a will or not, your father's spouse is entitled to everything. That's the law. Now it's time you start treating the step-mother nicely or you may find that you will get nothing once she passes away.

Personal experience with my wifes parents. Her dad passed away and her step mother inherited everything. The step mother passed away 2 years later and my wife then inherited everything.

It's called the line of inheritance. the spouse always gets everything in most every state in the united states.
