The purpose of this test is to check your reflexes and neurological status. An absense of the reflex could indicate nerve damage.

If you're knee jerks, then your reflex in that area is fine. If it doesn't jerk, you have no reflex there and your Dr. may want to take tests.

It's to check your reflexes. I supose no response would mean you have bad or slow reflexes.

REFLEX with out it you could get hurt easly and badly like when you touch something hot you pull away quickly
