If you want to take her to an awesome hotel, try the Mandarin Oriental in Columbus Circle.
Also, the W Hotels are extremely cool, and the one in Times Square would be very cool if you can get a room with a view.
The Marriott Marquis, which is also in Times Square has amazing glass elevators that soar up the middle of the building! They also have a restaurant (The View) which spins 360 degrees for a full panorama of Manhattan from wherever you sit.
The Park Central on 7th Avenue let's kids under 17 stay free, so you might want to look into that as well.
Some of the older hotels (Waldorf, Carlyle, Pierre) might be opulent, but I don't know if that would exciting for a 15 year old.
You should take her to see a Broadway show - both Wicked and Tarzan would be great for a girl her age.
Restaurants - take her down to Da Silvano in the West Village - lots of celebrities eat there, and she might see someone she likes!

I live really close to New York, and I'm going to have to tell you to go to the W Times Square. It has an awesome location, and is a really cool chic hotel. Your daughter will love it! If you like West End shows, you should definitely get tickets to a Broadway show, I highly recommend The Producers or Spamalot. Also, you should go to the top of the Empire State Building (prepare to wait in line) and possibly go to Grand Central Terminal. It's a really impressive railroad station with this incredible main concourse. If the weather's ok, you should take the ferry to Liberty Island and go into the Statue of Liberty. Along those nice weather lines, you should also take a stroll in Central Park. I hope that this helped, and please wish your daughter a Happy Birthday, I'm sure that this will be an amazing present for her.

I stayed at the Biltmore and its nice there. The Museum, St.Patricks Church... The Statue of Liberty and to cross over it and go into it....Central Park...but dont go there in the dark....UN building...they had a children's art show when I was there....the site of the twin towers (sad but it will make her realise that life is sometimes sad too) Crystal Tower where you can see the whole of NYC. Broadway and to one of the shows there. Lots of places to eat and the food is very good there. Y ou have China Town. NY pizzas are the best in the world!!! Steaks are good.Have fun but be very careful also. There is also Times Square and you may be able to skate there at this time of the year.
